Man holding a frame

Here's a man holding a frame. I based him mostly on a guy in a photo I saw on Shorpy. I decided to draw it in ballpoint pen instead of my usual pencil, and I'm planning to hand-color it to see how I like that compared to this digital coloring (also my usual).

Crocheted catnip mice

I made these new catnip mice recently, using the same mercerized Turkish cotton yarn as I did for the creature I posted yesterday. The long tail allows them to be launched far across a room for high quality chasing, and when playing with a cat at close range allow your hands to stay out of the tooth/claw danger zone. They're fun for kitties to carry around in their mouths.

Crocheted creature with brown eyes

Here's a new crocheted creature I created while watching Damages. Thanks, Netflix streaming!

I used a nice Turkish mercerized cotton yarn.

Veggielicious is coming!

Perhaps you were wondering why I was posting images of various fruits, vegetables, desserts, and meals? Here's the poster I designed for the upcoming Veggielicious event that'll be happening in Toronto from April 9-24!

Penguins 1

I sketched some South African penguins a couple of weeks ago.

Holiday card

I didn't want to post this before it was printed, and then never got around to posting it until now, but here's a holiday card I illustrated back in December. You can see an animated version if it here.

Organizing the bookcase

So, this has been up on YouTube for about a week and most of you who read my blog have probably already seen it, but I was hoping to get caught up enough on my posts that I could post it on the accurate date. I don't think that's going to happen for awhile, so here it is! Sean and I spent a whole bunch of hours shuffling our books around our bookcase, and then he edited it together with a great song by Rodrigo y Gabriela, a super-impressive guitar-playing duo.

The clock that so many people are paying attention to while trying to figure out how long this must have taken to film is my monster clock, which is available on CafePress. There's a 20% off sale with coupon code RET315P for anyone who's interested in buying one (expires March 23, 2011).

Cakes

Two of my favorite desserts! Chocolate cake and cheesecake (vegan, of course).

Fruit

I'm going to post a series of elements from a poster I'm designing right now for a veg event.

Daydreaming guy

This is something I drew for the same project. I've decided that I'm going to try making him into an older-looking person, maybe a little hipsterish.

Daydreamer

This is for a project I'm working on right now.

I know I'm behind in posting, but I'll make it up, promise!

Robot Builder

The woman in this image is based on an image I saw on Shorpy. She was working in a factory building airplanes during the 40's, and I reimagined her as a robot-building enthusiast instead.

A Sheep in Wolf's Clothing

I was having drawer's block, so Sean suggested this subject.
